2 HP 115 volt Ironton CCW 5/8 Motor Does the Job Bought a hefty twin compressor head from HFT but they didn’t have a readily adaptable for it. A three hp motor is recommended for the head but I was wired for 115 volts, so I got this 2hp, 115/230 volt Ironton unit in the standard shaft size (HFT does not sell a 2hp with a 5/8 shaft) and with a 3 inch pulley it runs my compressor just fine under all load conditions its encountered so far and it barely gets warm. The reason HFT recommends a 3 hp motor though is to run the comp at rated output…
